About this module

This module will consider the wide range of generations working across any school or organisation. Considering these generations allows each person to excel and enjoy their role, which in turn will lead to success for children. We will educate ourselves on the variety of generations in the workplace and offer practical ways to appropriately work together. In turn, you will be equipped to adapt and respond to the needs of your colleagues linked to common goals.

This module is appropriate for all current leaders along with any aspiring leaders in all phases and contexts.

Session 1: Understanding generational factors will explore:

  • The context of our colleagues – knowing your generational teams.
  • Highlighting external influences and characteristics.

Session 2: Implications for team working will explore:

  • A focus on four areas of consideration when working in cross-generational teams.
  • Reflections on diversity.
What you will learn:
  • Trends from research relating to different generations in the workplace.
  • Practical ways to collaborate with different generation colleagues.
  • Explore generational responses as learners themselves to subjects taught in school.
  • Relating common goals to generational responses.
  • Ways to reflect on staff strengths and what your school offers staff to develop.
