A back to basics look at systematic synthetic phonics.

About this module:

In this module, we will take participants from the basics of phonics to its application into reading and writing across the National Curriculum. Participants will gain the knowledge, skills and understanding of a synthetic, systematic phonics (SSP) programme.

There will be an overview of the progression of the phonics phases demonstrating best practice teaching approaches. Strategies and ideas for teaching phonics effectively and supporting KS2 pupils who require additional phonics input will also be shared.

Through the course of the module, you will be invited to audit your subject knowledge and to reflect on your own phonics teaching practice in order to shape future practice.
