Ever since Musharaf's story was first told on the EMMY Award winning series Educating Yorkshire, he has devoted his years to spreading awareness about stammering and motivating others. Register now and we will email you once we have the live session date!

The following session is about how Musharaf was able to defy the odds in finding his voice despite at a young age being told he would never be able to speak again.

The session continues with explaining how I now live life 8 years later after Educating Yorkshire as a keynote speaker and a journalist. I describe how education was (and currently is) a fundamental aspect for the success in my life and how teachers and key staff members are the everyday hero’s us students seek out to find in our lives at school.

About the presenter:

My name is Musharaf Asghar, and live life as a keynote speaker with a stammer. Since my story was first told on the EMMY Award winning series Educating Yorkshire, I have devoted my years to spreading awareness about stammering and motivating others through my keynotes.

My journey began with the words of a doctor who told me, at just five years old, I would never speak again. For years I believed him, but these words eventually fuelled me with the grit and determination to push myself beyond what I was deemed capable of. The lengths I stretched to speak saw me practising at every opportunity, from escaping from my comfort zone, to calling contact centres to speak: I grasped at my speech wherever I could.

What you will learn:

The session outcome is to hopefully educate the attendees about how the support of teachers, fellow peers and friends can allow people (such as myself to overcome adversities they thought they never could have imagined.
