What are the characteristics and competencies that allow students to learn and succeed in an ever-changing global economy and how do we create the opportunities for them to develop?

About this module:

We all know, as educators, that students’ effective acquisition of knowledge, skills and understanding, has to be ‘sticky,’ but what does it stick to? It sticks to characteristics. If students do not develop the right characteristics and competencies, they cannot learn. In this module we consider how we, as educators, can focus on characteristic and competency acquisition first and foremost when preparing learning experiences for young people. As a starting point to deeper consideration of specific characteristics, this module will introduce you to important key principles and provide examples of successful strategies that put character at the centre of learning.

This module is suitable for school leaders, teachers and those supporting learning in all settings and across all age groups.
