About this module
In recent years, there has been a wealth of research into reading fluency: what fluency is, the impact of fluency on reading, and effective teaching strategies for developing fluency. In this session, we will consider this body of research to gain an understanding of the components of reading fluency, how well developed fluency leads to good reading comprehension and, conversely, how underdeveloped fluency levels present barriers to reading.
This module is suitable for English Subject Leaders, Class Teachers, Teaching Assistants supporting pupils’ reading.
