The theory and practice of phonics in the Spanish language classroom.

About this module

In this module, we will cover the importance of phonics versus the alphabet, and why phonics are vital to second language acquisition. We will begin by developing an understanding of the importance of phonics, and how language teaching has evolved by examining the literature and science behind this shift. Session two will focus more on practical application through the introduction of tried and tested activities, and the incorporation of technology in the language classroom. The accompanying activities will give you an opportunity to develop your understanding and application of phonics.

Whilst suitable for all language teachers, this module is particularly beneficial for Early Career Teachers, or for those teaching out of specialism.
